Vision & Mission

Vision Statement

To contribute to global efforts to end world poverty in developing countries by empowering people through skills training and establishment of income generating businesses.

Mission Statement

To be a leading community-based organisation providing training, resource mobilisation and networking with various organisations while ensuring that local projects remain sustainable using local knowledge, resources and skills.

Mission Principles

By using change management practices, CDP focusses on:

Community Development

The training opens up opportunities for poor communities with the aim of setting up income producing ventures, underpinned by community banking as the  foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty.

Dignity and Hope

Every person has something to contribute and something to gain from creating communities in which all people are brought out of poverty.  Dignity and hope are best achieved through local communities developing their own strategies to bring themselves out of poverty

CDP’s work is considered successful when it:

    1. transforms lives and promotes positive and lasting social and economic change within a community;

    2. is based on mutual trust and fully shared accomplishment; and

    3. demonstrates responsible stewardship of all community resources.
